The FQTF immediately had an impact on reducing serious crime - down 45% after just the first 3 months of operations and serious crime continues to decline - a testament to the effectiveness of the App and the "Blue Light" crime deterrent patrols.
The Saint Tammany Parish Sheriffs Office App Task Force
Launched in April 2018, the App Task Force has been used in Saint Tammany Parish - the third largest parish in the State of Louisiana covering 846 square miles. Citizens in the St Tammany Parish Sheriffs Office jurisdiction are able to report crimes from anywhere in that area.
Sheriff Randy Smith remarked “Having been a deputy, detective, chief, and sheriff, it’s easy for me to see that technology is changing the way we police. That’s why I personally want to invite you to download the new App Task Force. This turns any phone into a direct line to the sheriff’s office and will lead to faster response times. Download the App Task Force. It is easy to use, and it’s the UBER of policing. At the St Tammany Sheriff’s office, we are committed to fighting crime. Download the App and be part of that fight.”
